Highlanders top Bossier Parish, remain undefeated
The McLennan Highlanders picked up an 81-71 win over the Bossier Parish Cavaliers on the road in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, to remain undefeated on the season.
The Highlanders were on fire from 3-point range throughout the contest with Isaiah Gurley and Shannon Bogues combining for 11 of the team's 13 from behind the arc.
McLennan and Bossier Parish kept the game close through the first 11 minutes of play. The Highlanders led 23-21 with just over nine minutes to play in the first half. McLennan used a 5-0 run over the next minute to begin pulling away and extended the lead to 12 at the half, 41-29.
The Highlanders kept the Cavaliers at arm's length in the second half, leading by as many as 20. Bossier Parish pulled within 10 in the final minute of the game but was unable to get any closer.
Gurley led the Highlanders with 25 points and Bogues added 20.
