Highlanders top Eastfield
The McLennan Highlanders defeated the Eastfield Harvesters 107-95 Wednesday night at The Highlands.
The first half was reminiscent of a 3-point contest as the two teams combined to make 13 shots from beyond the arc. McLennan led by nine several times down the stretch and held the 51-45 advantage at the half.
The Highlanders opened the second half on a 4-0 run to take the first double-digit lead, 55-45, with 17:56 remaining in the game. McLennan built a 16-point lead, 68-52, with 15 minutes to go. Eastfield rallied, cutting the lead to three, 77-74, midway through the half. McLennan extended the lead back to 10, 96-86, with just over four minutes to play and the Harvesters were unable to pull any closer.
Jerami Grace led the Highlanders with 31 points. Zach Charles recorded a double double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Aundre Jackson added 20. Ben Nakwassah and K.J. Boyd scored 11 points each.
