Highlanders remain perfect with win over Navarro
The McLennan Highlanders moved to 8-0 on the season with a 79-68 win over the Navarro Bulldogs in the Lewis Orr Classic.
McLennan started slow, allowing Navarro to build an early six-point lead, 8-2. The Highlanders found their groove from the 3-point line and took the lead at 13-11 with 15:14 remaining in the first half. McLennan began to pull away and led by 16 at the break, 44-28.
Navarro rallied in the second half, cutting the lead to eight several times down the stretch but it wasn't enough to overcome the Highlanders' cushion.
Shannon Bogues led McLennan and all scorers with 29 points. Aundre Jackson and Jerami Grace added 17 and 14, respectively, for the Highlanders.
