Highlanders top Collin
In a low scoring game, the Highlanders defeated the Cougars 69-59.
Collin opened the game on a 7-0 run. The Cougars led 12-4 with 14:02 to play in the first half. McLennan used a 13-4 run over the next seven minutes to take its first lead of the game at 17-16. The Highlanders led 24-23 with two minutes remaining the half and ended half on an 8-0 run to take the 32-23 lead.
McLennan took the first double-digit lead at 48-37 with 12:08 remaining in the game. Collin pulled within nine late in the half but was unable to get any closer.
James Harrison led the Highlanders with 19 points. Jalen Jones scored 14.
McLennan returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Temple. The women's game begins at 5:30 pm., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
