Highlanders trample SWCC
The McLennan Highlanders bounced back from Wednesday's loss with an 86-60 victory over the Southwestern Christian Rams.
The first half was reminiscent of a 3-point contest as the two teams combined for 10 from behind the arc. McLennan led 14-11 with 12 minutes to play in the half and used an 8-0 run over the next four minutes to take the first double-digit lead of the game, 22-11. McLennan led by as many as 15 in the half and went into the locker room up 39-27.
The Highlanders continued to pull away in the second half, using a 12-2 run midway through to put the game out of reach.
James Harrison led the five Highlanders in double figures with 18 points. Ricardo Artis and Aundre Jackson scored 15 points each. K.J. Boyd and Jalen Jones added 11 and 10, respectively.
McLennan returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Weatherford. The women's game will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
