Highlanders smash Eastfield
The McLennan Highlanders smashed the Eastfield Harvesters 83-48 in Mesquite.
McLennan opened the game on a 9-0 run and held Eastfield without a field goal for the first five minutes of play. McLennan built a double-digit lead, 12-1, with 16:10 remaining in the first half. The Highlanders continued to pull away and held the 43-22 advantage at the break.
The second half was much the same as McLennan cruised to the easy victory.
Sophomore Jalen Jones led the Highlanders with 14 points and sophomore James Harrison added 13. Fellow sophomore Jeff Beverly recorded a double double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
McLennan returns to action on Monday, traveling to Dallas to face Richland at 6 p.m.
