Highlanders top Bossier Parish
The McLennan Highlanders defeated the Bossier Parish Cavaliers 84-69 in Louisiana.
The game was close throughout the first half with neither team gaining more than a five-point lead. McLennan led 23-18 with 11:50 to play in the half. Bossier Parish used a 15-5 run over the next five minutes to take the 33-28 lead and held the 42-41 lead at the break.
The Highlanders came out shooting in the second half, taking the first double-digit lead at 61-51 with 11:25 remaining in the game. McLennan continued to pull away down the stretch as the team cruised to the win.
Freshman Alex Mills led the Highlanders with 19 points. Four other Highlanders scored in double figures.
