No. 5 Highlanders complete series sweep of Hill Rebels
Wyatt Cheney picked up the 6-2 win on the mound in the opener.
Both of Hill's runs came on solo home runs by Jagger Schattle, one in the second and one in the seventh.
McLennan scored two in the third to take the lead. Izzy Lopez doubled, advanced to third on an error and scored on a single by Ty Johnson. Johnson then stole second and scored on a double by Cole Fontenelle.
The Highlanders added three runs in the fourth. Ravaughn Morgan singled and advanced to second on an error. Hank Bard followed with a single to score Morgan. Lopez reached on an error and advanced to second on an overthrow. Marquis Jackson then singled to score Bard and Lopez.
Jackson rounded out the scoring with a solo home run in the sixth.
McLennan got the 10-2 run-rule victory in game two with Gray Harrison getting the win on the mound.
The Highlanders scored five runs in the bottom of the first. Jackson and Johnson both walked, and Fontenelle was hit by the pitch to load the bases. Cole Dillon single to score Jackson, and Daniel Altman singled to score Johnson and Fontenelle. Dillon came around to score on a Hill error, and Lopez singled to score Altman.
Two more McLennan runs scored in the third as Dillon walked and scored on Katcher Halligan's home run.
Hill got on the board with a run in the fourth. Eric Garcia singled and Tait Joynt walked. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch, and Garcia scored on a sacrifice fly by Cayden Earnhart.
McLennan's final three runs came in the bottom of the fourth. Johnson bunted for a single, Fontenelle was hit by the pitch and Morgan reached on an error. Johnson scored on a wild pitch, and Dillon doubled to score Fontenelle and Morgan.
The Rebels rounded out the scoring with a run in the top of the fifth. Hayden Blair, Cristian Garcia and Schattle all walked. Blair then scored on a wild pitch.
