The McLennan Highlanders and Hill Rebels split today's conference doubleheader at Bosque River Ballpark.
McLennan took game one 5-0 with Logan Henderson getting the win on the mound.
The Highlanders scored four runs in the third inning. Jaylen Williams was hit by the pitch and Benjamin Rosengard singled. Mason Greer singled to score Williams. Garrett Martin followed with a three-run homer.
McLennan's final run came in the fifth. Miguel Santos was hit by the pitch and Greer singled. Martin followed with a fielder's choice, and Lopez bunted to score Santos.
Hill defeated the Highlanders 2-1 in game two with Jack Hattrup taking the loss on the mound.
The Rebels scored one run in the top of the second. Raul Lopez and Scout Sanders both singled and advanced on a wild pitch. Lopez then scored on a ground out by Will Buchholz.
McLennan tied the game with a run in the fifth. Greer singled and advanced around to third on a throwing error. Lopez followed with a single to score Greer.
Hill sealed the win with a run in the seventh as Lopez singled, moved to second on an error and scored on a double by Buchholz.
The teams will complete the series with a noon doubleheader Friday in Hillsboro.
