Highlander Baseball falls to No. 5 San Jacinto
The McLennan Highlanders fell to the No. 5 San Jacinto Gators 7-0 Monday afternoon in a neutral site game at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. Bryson Weeks took the loss on the mound for McLennan.
San Jacinto began the scoring with a run in the top of the first as Luke Pectol singled, moved to second on an error, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on another error.
The Gators rounded out the scoring with five runs in the third. Warren Laster walked, Mason Lytle was hit by the pitch and Harold Coll walked, loading the bases. Pectol drew a walk, bringing Laster in to score. Mason Auer singled to score Lytle and Coll. Pectol scored on a single by Omar Cervantez, and Auer scored on an error.
McLennan opens conference play Wednesday, hosting Cisco for a noon doubleheader at Bosque River Ballpark.
