Highlanders stomp Navarro

The McLennan Highlanders picked up a 12-2 run-rule victory over the Navarro Bulldogs in a non-conference matchup this afternoon at Bosque River Ballpark.
Navarro began the scoring with one run in the first. Matt Munoz, Ben Martin and Luis Trevino all singled, loading the bases. Munoz then came in to score on a sacrifice fly by Alex Samples.
McLennan took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the second. Noah McGowan led off with a solo home run. Joe Breaux was hit by the pitch and Cole Haring singled. Griffin Williams followed with a single to score Breaux.
The Highlanders added a run in the third. Chris Roller was a safe at first and moved to second on a Navarro error. Roller then moved to third on a ground out by Cory Voss and scored on a fly out by McGowan.
McLennan scored three runs in the fourth. Williams drew a walk, stole second and scored on a double by Roller. Dimas Ojeda also drew a walk. Voss then doubled to score Roller and Ojeda.
Another Highlander run scored in the fifth as Haring singled and scored on a double by Williams.
McLennan added four more runs in the sixth. Roller singled, stole second and scored on a double by Nic Motley. McGowan followed with a double to score Motley. Brock Morrison tripled, scoring McGowan. Morrison then scored on a sacrifice fly by Creighton Eldridge.
The Bulldogs scored one run in the top of the seventh as Martin drew a lead-off walk, moved to second on a ground out by Trevino and scored on a double by Samples.
The Highlanders secured the run-rule with one run in the bottom of the seventh. Williams drew a lead-off walk and came around to score on a walk-off double by Ojeda.
