The McLennan Highlanders swept a conference doubleheader with the Temple Leopards this afternoon at Bosque River Ballpark.
McLennan run-ruled Temple 17-7 in game one with Reece Calvert picking up the win on the mound. Cory Voss led the Highlanders at the plate going 4-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Brendan Venter was 3-5 with a double, a home run and four RBIs while Tucker Johnson went 3-4 with a home run and also picked up four RBIs. James Rudkin hit a two-run homer and Noah McGowan was 2-4 with a triple and an RBI. Brock Morrison picked up two hits and two RBIs while Joe Breaux got two RBIs.
The Highlanders defeated the Leopards 16-14 in the night cap with Michael Cugini getting the win and Palmer Wenzel picking up a save. Dimas Ojeda was 3-4 with a double and an RBI to lead McLennan. Johnson recorded a hit and an RBI. Voss had two hits and two RBIs while McGowan went 2-5 with a double and three RBIs. Mario Vela recorded a hit and two RBIs.
