Three McLennan players selected in MLB draft
June 9, 2014
Three McLennan Community College pitchers were selected in the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft. Greg Maisto was selected in the 16th round by the Tampa Bay Rays, Sterling Wynn was chosen by the Texas Rangers in the 21st round and Tyler Watson went to the Los Angeles Angels in the 38th round. This marks the fourth time in the last five years that McLennan has had multiple selections in the draft. Of the 393 junior college baseball programs across the nation and the 35 programs in Texas, only five colleges across the nation and one in Texas had more players drafted. The addition of these players brings the total number of players from McLennan selected to 84 players. |
